Năm 1935 Indiana Jones gặp tay gangster tên Lao Che để trao đổi di vật thời Minh. Nhưng đám con của tên Lao Che lại không muốn Jones sống sót trở về, Jones cùng Willie Scott - cô đào của Lao Che và cậu bạn nhỏ Short Round trốn thoát nhưng ko ngờ chiếc máy bay đó là của Lao Che nên bị đưa qua Ấn độ cả ba thoát được và được cụ già trong làng chào đón.
